Media Director

Overview

The Media Director is a Christian creative professional that has the overall responsibility to provide leadership and direction for all creative needs across Fuego Church. They are hyper-focused on digital impact, creatively connecting with other creatives to stay on trend, and leading us into the future of the church communications and content; while understanding of the unique challenges of doing so within a church context. This is a full-time, salary position, scheduled for Monday through Thursday (in office). Sunday is volunteer hours.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a working knowledge of individual roles and capabilities in order to provide competent project feedback and training. 

  • Develop and enforce (with the support of the Creative Pastor and Executive Pastor) all church-wide and individual ministry branding guidelines.

  • Manage and monitor Fuego’s social media accounts, engaging with followers by responding to inquiries and addressing concerns in a timely manner.

  • Collaborate with multiple ministries to create customized social media strategies that align with Fuego’s overall brand and digital objectives. This includes providing training to Fuego staff on the effective and appropriate use of social media platforms.

  • Work with the Executive Pastor and Creative Pastor to develop staff-wide social media policies.

  • Collect and distribute social media metrics to the Creative Pastor that consistently describe the effectiveness of the church’s social media ministry.

  • Oversee Videographers, Photographers, Graphic designers, Content Creators, and Creative contractors.

  • Oversee and process Creative requests via Associate Creative Director and Project Manager

  • Lead and develop the creative team and volunteers by Identifying ways to support and unleash the artistic talents in the church.

  • Champion the culture and brand of Fuego Church, overseeing the look and feel throughout its services, ministries, communication channels, website, and all media platforms.

  • Serve as the lead point person on all media interactions (including promotional ads) , reporting back to the Creative Pastor.

  • Lead ideations and brainstorms to generate new ideas and concepts for churchwide events, ministries, merchandise, branding, and requested projects.

  • Look to the future regularly to evaluate and update our creative processes, content, and the Fuego Church brand as needed, to appeal to and stay relevant with our target demographic.

  • Prep, present, and pitch church-wide videos and graphics to relevant parties and/or Creative

  • Executive Pastor, Lead Pastors

  • Manage, organize, stylize, and direct video and photo shoots

  • Direct creative projects - fulfilling creative vision in a Christ-like and professional manner that engages the community from self, Lead Pastors, Executive Pastors and Creative Pastor.

  • Be the go-to person for everything involving the Creative organization

  • All other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree or higher in graphic design, art, communications, or a related field, or at least two years of experience serving in a similar role for another organization.

  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite products.

  • Experienced with Video cameras, Camera operations, and directing in video production—this includes but is not limited to the composition, editing, production, and directing of videos to be used in services, ministries, special events, and publicity.

  • A Credentialed Minister through the Assemblies of God, in the process of becoming, or willing to become, an AG Credentialed Minister within two years. Baptized in the Holy Spirit, with the physical sign of speaking with other tongues as the Spirit of God gives utterance.

  • Experience in leading teams and developing people is required

  • Experience in the communication field like PR, marketing, social media is required

  • Experience in graphic arts, video editing, and motion graphics is required

  • Basic understanding of production and service structures

  • Excellent in organization and project management methodologies

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills.

  • Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.

  • Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish (reading and writing) preferred but not required.

  • Support the vision, values, and ministry of Fuego Church through tithing, serving, etc.

  • Be teachable with a humble and submissive attitude

  • Maintain all information confidential (about staff, projects, property, members, etc.)

  • Always be innovative, self-starting, value team-based ministry, and always have a problem-solving attitude

  • Always willing to serve the church and pastors, fulfilling the vision of the house

  • Always bring and keep a positive, upbeat spirit to the team

  • Support, be flexible, and report to the Creative Pastor as needed

  • Understand and be willing to serve within the doctrinal commitments of the Fuego church.

  • Engage in the ministry of Fuego Church as a church member and staff team member.

  • Attend and serve multiple services on Sunday, a Midweek service (Wednesday night), one rehearsal night of the week (currently set for Tuesdays), and any other event/activities where needed. 

  • Work well with others, seeking to resolve conflict in accordance with Matthew 18.

  • Think creatively for current and future desires and needs of Fuego Church and is willing to step “outside the box” using media and its resources for the purpose of enhancing our church and its ministries in reaching the lost and unchurched while balancing with “inside the box” understanding of the Fuego Church’s in history and place in the community.
